I am… fired.

One of the children
Saw me drinking
In the alley behind work

Which was wrong of me.

But they
Grinned with amusement

Then
Went wailing back inside
Pretending trauma

For the attention
And the drama

And the thrill
Of having power
Over me

Because
They have no power
Over their own lives

I look to My Father.

He says:

“Neither AM I
Condemning you

“Your sin
Is an opportunity
For Me
To show you grace…”

“So you can show them!”.
