Today’s Most Important Challenge is…
- Slowing down enough
- To remember who I am
- And be that
Held In Scripture (Hosting Ignatian Spirituality)
Continued from Whether I Live Or Die
I see Jesus.
He is… being carried.
By rich men
Who loved Him
Slightly less
Than their own lives
Not enough
To die with Him
Or for Him
Yet enough
To risk their status
And their wealth
To carry His body
To their family tombs
I see myself.
Just as cowardly
If perhaps
For different reasons
Slinking behind them
Following the way
That leads
To the place of the dead
Only to stop
When a Voice
Whispers behind me
“This is not The Way to hope!”
To be continued
Response

Scripture
“What a brief time you’ve given me to live! Compared to you my lifetime is nothing at all! Nothing more than a puff of air—I’m gone so swiftly. So too are the grandest of men; they are nothing but a fleeting shadow!”
Psalms 39:5-7 TPT
Pause in his presence
“We live our lives like those living in shadows. All our activities and energies are spent for things that pass away. We gather, we hoard, we cling to our things, only to leave them all behind for who knows who.
And now, God, I’m left with one conclusion: my only hope is to hope in you alone!”
