John 4:24 God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”
I hope you don’t think that I’m rude
When spirits, I claim, must be trued
This brokenness isn’t our fault
It’s ‘cause we’re enmeshed in gestalt
To live in this world is to strive
So we and our offspring survive
The pain we are forced to inflict
Results in an inner conflict
Our spirits thus warp and divide
Torn up by that turmoil inside
The answer for souls so maligned
Is that we must be realigned
Our spirits must draw near the One
From which we first came, and become
The first time we see Him, tis true
We feel shame at how we’re askew
But as His grace burns up our dross
We find joy in bearing His cross
And once we’re reborn we can see
I’ll live the best version of me
By sharing myself just like food
So your spirit, too, can be trued
