In this world the law is a map
Obedience earns us a backslap
We do as we’re told
To earn our day’s gold
And never realize it’s a trap

For Jesus the law is a mirror
To show us where we need Him nearer
Our own righteousness
Is just a hot mess
Could the cross be any clearer?
