“No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house. For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all. So pay attention to how you hear. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what they think they understand will be taken away from them. Luke 8:16-18
There’s something we must understand If we want a life that is grand And that is we must face the fright Of seeing our darkness in light
Once again, Jesus spoke to the people and said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Those times when I seem most full-of-bull I’m thrilled that you still find me “touchable” You don’t fear my taint You see what I ain’t And cleanse me through your healing crucible
When things do not go as I planned It’s tempting to make a “last stand” But stands that are lasting Must pivot through fasting To make sure I stick to God’s hand
Compassion may seem quite in fashion Until it’s our face that is ashen But if we’re His Bride We’ll stay by His side No matter the waves that are crashin’!
