Poem: Fix It All

“God, do You hear when I call?
Why don’t You come fix it all?”
His words, though quite painful, rang true
“My son, that is why I made you!”

We start out as children of Eve
So we may His goodness believe
His gifts we enjoy every hour
As proof of omnipotent power

Yet one fact those truths overrule
“Receiving” is just our pre-school
The end goal is doing Christ’s work
And that means a cross we can’t shirk

To transcend our infantile faith
We must unlearn how to be great
And face what our minds dare not think
As His cup of suffering we drink

God’s purpose is really just one
He wants us to be like His Son
As we bear a cross for their sin
Their fixing — and ours — will begin
