Poem: Idle Work

Standard

Reflections on impending employment

The call to work
We must not shirk
Yet being busy
Can cause a tizzy

We need to find
True peace of mind
By focusing on
What He begun

The jobs we do
Have purpose two:
• To train our selves
• Put food on shelves

Yet more than this
We must find bliss
Joining with One
Who gets things done

If we lose sight
Of what is right
Then all our pain
Will be in vain

Let us instead
Connect the Head
And work from joy
His girl or boy

Then we will not
Risk being caught
In fruitless idle
Or work as idol
