Poem: Redemption Value

The song of the redeemed
Is we are no longer
What we seemed

Our value to this world
Is only what we’ve earned

Trapped inside a rat race
Measured by Law instead of Grace

The Abundant Life of Christ
Tracks instead His purchase price

All our shameful flaws and pain
Accrue to Him as heav’nly gain

The darkest depth of hidden sin
Is just the place where He begins

His death upon the cross, it shows
We are the soil His fruit to grow

All the crap that we’ve endured
Is fertilizer for our Lord

Preparing us for Judgement Day
When at last we’ll hear Him say

“Though you thought you’d gone astray,
I have always been your Way
And now I’ve brought you home to stay!”
