The only cure
For our Self
Is God Himself

We need His Spirit
To nurture our True Self
As God Himself
Knows and loves us

Then we need His Word
To reveal the True Christ
As God Himself
Became us

As we need His Body
To reveal our False Self
God Himself
Speaking through them
What we can’t yet hear
In our own Spirit

Finally we need His Blood
To replace the False Self
With the True Christ
As God Himself
Becomes our Self

Epilogue: Communion

We break the bread
Of this old Life
To recall Christ’s body
Divided among us

We drink the cup
Of the new Covenant
To recall Christ’s blood
Uniting us
