Radically Happy

Jesus didn’t see Bartimeus
As an interruption
Because He was always looking
Always hungry
Always hoping
For the exceptional

He appreciated the crowds
He enjoyed the routine
But His heart
Was always open

Always singing
Always listening
Always participating in
Always attending to
A heavenly dance

Fully present
And responsive to
Father-surprises
Hidden
Amidst the mundane

Prayer

Today I will look
For what my Father is doing
Outside my narrow
Expectations
