I see Jesus.

He is… not stopping me from falling.

Nor catching me in midair
Nor waiting on the ground

Yet He is not
Letting me die

He is
Inviting me to die

Allowing
My broken body
And spilt blood
To become food

For the beasts of the field
And the birds of the air

I see myself.

My body
Sinks down to the earth

Yet
My spirit
Soars to the sky

As I hear
My Father proclaim:

“This is not
At the end
This is just…”

“In the beginning!”

• Present

• Not a rescuer. A savior.

• Not needing Him to protect me
• Allowing Him to love me as Himself
• Becoming like Him in His death, so that I may share in His resurrection.
