To draw them away
From their petty squabbles

In order
To focus their attention
However imperfectly

On the Holy God
We claim to worship

I look to My Father.

I burst into tears

Because my greatest offering
In messy
Bloody
Broken

Ugly
Disgusting
Pathetic
Weak

Foolish
Ridiculous
Mockworthy

My father smiles.

Through His own tears

Which might be
From laughter

As He points
At the cross
And says:

“Mine too!”
