I am… sore.

I look at my blood
The ancestor
Who would grow up
To bear my mother

Who forbore
To tell him
She was bearing me

Because she couldn’t bear
To be left behind
When my father came to America

Because he
Unconsciously
Taught her
That he
Preferred comfortable lies
To honest confrontation
That undermined his reality

I look to My Father.

He says:

“Do not blame this youth
For sins
He has not yet
Committed

“Instead
You must show him…”

“The most excellent way!”
