Continued from Grow Up As Strong

I am… flowing.

The blood of my broken heart
That became a fountain
That became a palace
Has become a river

Pulling me
Inexorably
Back towards the home

I originally
Ran away from

Which I always
Have been running away from

I look to My Father.

I say:

“Father
I do not want
To go back
And lose
All the progress
We have made”

My Father looks to me.

He says:

“Nothing
Is ever wasted

“But everything
Must be refined
By reuniting
With its antithesis”

The river meets the ocean.

It does not lose itself
So much
As fulfill itself

And on the shore
Where land becomes sea
I spy a small hut

The door opens
And I behold
My ancestor…

When he was nineteen!
