5/9 Poem: Fearless Hope

If sinners I dare hope to bless
I must learn how to fear less
For if I’m afraid of your taint
I focus on all that you ain’t

But if my eyes were made more true
I’d see the best version of you
And honor you for latent glory
So you rise up to that story

The reason I grumble and judge
Is I’m still too full of my sludge
And so you I must push away
Lest your shame plus mine overweigh

Lord, drain me of all pride and sin
So Your Great Redemption begin
As all hopeless fears soon subside
In our fearless hope as Your Bride

Today I will let God lance my sin
So my drain and His reign can begin
