Today I will live out
Rather than for
God’s approval
When I have something to prove
It’s harder to find a kind move
To make more of me
I must ignore thee
Which sets up a combative groove
But when my approval is sure
I’m willing to take the detour
So we both indeed
Are sure to succeed:
Acceptance is ambition’s cure
