The modern idea of freedom
Is that my right-ness
Is my own responsibility

Versus the traditional view
That society determines
My right-ness

Both are half-true
And wholly wrong

Those are necessary lies
To cover up
The holes in our heart
So we can survive
Without God

But
Jesus
Is a better Way

Where we find our identity
Not in being Right
But in becoming His

Where we can surrender
The pressure
Of needing
To be Right enough
To help others

For the freedom
Of being Christ’s enough
To help others
See Him
