Opposites
Contradictions
Paradox
Enmity
Reconciliation

We try to do that
For the people
Communities
Churches
Countries
We love

But keep running into
The sharp edges
Of self-preservation

Even a God
Ruling in heaven
Teaching on earth
Dwelling in hearts
Is not
Big enough
Elastic enough
Loving enough
To contain
My pain
And yours
When we
Are the cause

Only One
Nailed to a tree
Sent out of heaven
Raised out of hell
Ascended from earth
Is close enough
Absorbent enough
Broken enough
To fill
Bridge
Cross
Contain
Transcend
Unite
