Radically Happy

We cannot say
What God is
Only THAT He is

We cannot fully
Characterize Him
Except in negatives
Or superlatives

To reduce Him
(Or really, anyone)
To mere logic
Or discrete attributes
Is akin to idolatry

They had their place
As a stepping stone
But we must beware
The bronze serpent

God is
All that we are
And all that we are not

We need Him
He does not need us
Yet He loves us
Enough to make Himself
Vulnerable to us

So that
We might
Know Him
As He is

Not
What we imagine
Him to be
