Yet another take on the Lord’s Prayer, this one from the first person volitional perspective of “I want.”
Dear Divine Dad,
I want your name to be glorified.
I want to live in your kingdom,
where our emotions, reasons, intentions and actions
are all aligned with you and your purposes.
I want you to supply all my needs,
including the need to trust that you’ll provide.
I want you to forgive me, even as I want to forgive others
so you can lead me to become happy, healthy, and holy
rather than opening the door to the evil one.
Because I only want the dominion, power and glory
that comes from you, and is submitted to you
because that is the only kind that lasts.
Please. Make it so!
Love,
Ernie
