Radically Happy

I try to push them / Back to safety / But that / Just makes them more nervous / And they scatter…

I must enter into His rest
 / Before I can give it to others…

“Do not deprive them / 
Of their glory / 
Do not judge / 
What you don’t understand”

The reality is that / 
In my flesh / 
I would prefer / 
To be foolish / 
Than to look foolish…

We are building a superhighway / Through a ruined wasteland / Of ruined dreams / And broken promises…

I look to My Father. // His face / Is grim / But His eyes / Twinkle / With mischief…

I scream / 
It is too much / 
I cannot bear / 
This kindness…

He pats my hand / 
He comforts me / 
Because my emotional distress / 
Is worse than His physical distress / 
(At least to Him)…

God’s throne room / Is being overrun / By an enemy // Me / I am the enemy…

Wondering if He will make it lighter / Instead / He makes me stronger…

I suddenly realize / This story is not / About finding or rescuing / My Beloved // It is about finding Christ / In the depths of Primal Reality / As my Beloved / And finding myself / As His Beloved…

I begin to sweat / Should I follow the road / Or Jesus? // The wrong choice / Could cost me my soul…

“Did he really think / 
Jesus would just sneak past / 
And leave me unchanged?”

In the desert / God was far / I had to travel / Long enough / To see Him // In the jungle / God is everywhere / I have be still / Long enough / To feel Him…

To gain her / I must lose my whole world // I want her / I think I love her / But is it enough?

I bow to Jesus. // One at a time / He removes burdens / I hadn’t realized / I was carrying…

He says / “Rest here / Awhile / I have to prepare / A surprise for you” // I cry out / “Don’t leave me! / I hate / To be alone…”
