Radically Happy

I see my brothers / And sisters / By the light / They reflect from Jesus…

We are scattered / Slowly falling / In random directions // I look for Jesus. / He is not falling / He is diving…

He is the line / 
We are the dances

Are these both / About marriage?

The prison door I hurled myself into / Does not yield / But rings like a bell // So do all the other doors…

I was expecting to break through / 
All I got was a bruise…

But that would be insisting / People obey my words / Instead of observing my actions…

My dance may not be / 
Generating light // 
But His / 
Consumes the darkness…

When I embrace / 
My negativity / 
I am drawn / 
To His positivity…

Fire falls from heaven / 
Like lightning // I am hurled to my feet / 
Transfigured…

I still find it hard to trust. “Because you forget that YOU are also My unfaithful bride.”

Don’t give me your heart / 
I’ll just break it / 
Then we won’t have enough…

I wonder / 
If that was why / 
Jesus brought me here / 
To entertain the orphans / 
As comic relief…

I thought the goal / 
Was to go fast and far / 
Not slow and soft…

I look for Jesus. // He is holding my shoes / But won’t give them to me…

And then I realize // This is Christmas / Or at least / The Day Before // This is how / God enters the world…

He is the glass-blower / Filling us with His Spirit // We do not lose / Our individuality / We do not lose / Our mobility // But as the temperature heats up / We flow…

Jesus / Stepped / On me // Smooshed me / Deformed me / Folded me / Spindled me…

He sees my eyes / 
Then for them He shapes / 
A head / 
A body / 
Limbs / 
Features…
