I am… descending.

Like Dante
Except into the depths
Of my own heart

Past the denial
Anxiety
Fear
Shame

To the dark places
Where Christ is not known

I look to My Father.

He says:

“Even here
You are not alone
Goodness and mercy
Are your guards
And your guides”

They point out a door.

It looks like a crack
In the stone wall
Of a pyramid’s interior

I have no idea
What death
Disease
Curses
Failure

May lie underneath.

But
My Father has called me
Equipped me
Accompanied me

So
I take a deep breath…

And pass through!
