I am… nurtured.

I rest
In my mother’s arms

Without fear
Of being absorbed by her
Or displaced by my siblings

Securely
Self-differentiated
As her beloved
And His

I look for Jesus.

He
Is still in the manger
Wrapped in swaddling clothes

His presence
In the world
Is the anchor
That stabilizes my identity

He opens his eyes.

And mine
So that I see myself
As a unique node
Swaddled without loss
In the cosmic web of eternity

Both humbled
And exalted
By my place in the universe

As He says:

“Now
You are finally ready…”

“To grow into me!”
