But He said, “You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!”
Exodus 33:20 NASB 1977
Lord, I long to be NoMan
So I can see you and live
I don’t even care if you kill me
As long as it is me you forgive
This world is so battered and broken
And I am no better inside
Surrounded by hoodwinked and liars
I just want to panic and hide
NoMan can face all these problems
NoMan can suffer with grace
NoMan will bring forth your Kingdom
For only NoMan sees your face
O Father, I can’t bear the tension
The gap between heaven and earth
How can you call me to feed lambs
When I curse the day of my birth?
Hosanna! The angels cry, “Holy!”
A scroll has been placed in my mouth
Thy bitter cup makes me seek wisdom
Like Sheba, the Queen of the South
This world is just a nuptial chamber
A Father preparing Christ’s Bride
But joy from this great matrimony
Is only for those who have died
So break down the bonds of my ego
Receive the worship I give
Unmake me to be your NoMan
So all can see you and live
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him.”
1 Corinthians 2:9
Today I will see / What God has in store
