Why would you rather sit & complain
Than stand up & come to Me
So that I may comfort you?

Me to my dog, then Jesus to me

  • Trusting in joy from an Abundance of Connection
  • Over control from the Scarcity of Separation

Immanuel Approach Memo

Continued from Watch Me Closely

I am… thundering.

My divided army
Had taken up positions
Against each other
Rather than the enemy

But
When I begin to sing
The song of my broken heart
And Christ’s

They remember the river
We all drank of together

Though we disagree on the words
They recognize the melody
And one by one
Section by section
Everyone starts singing
In their own language

I look for Jesus.

He is not
On the Right
The Left
Or even the Center

He is
In the midst of the enemy army
Choreographing our unconscious movements
Conducting our antiphonal song
Into such heartbreaking beauty…

That our enemy breaks!

To be continued

Reflection

I feel…

  • Overcome
  • Broken and spilled out
  • Rejoicing
  • United
  • Victorious
  • Melodious

Scripture

Each man held his position surrounding the camp. And the entire enemy army was shocked awake by the thunderous noises of Gideon’s army! They all panicked and fled, yelling as they ran away!
When they sounded their three hundred shofars, Yahweh made the enemy troops turn against each other with their own swords. The Midianites fled toward Zarerah as far as Beth Shittah, as far as the outskirts of the town of Abel Meholah near Tabbath.‬‬
