Identity Exchange Memo
Continued from Explaining
I am… hiding.
From THEM
You know…
The crowd
Society
Our tribe
My peer group
The significant others
Who determine how I see myself
By how they see me
Success or failure
Worthy or unworthy
Acceptable or not
I should feel safe.
I am on
The other side of a door
Opened by My Father
Protected by a gorilla
Inaccessible to THEM
Yet
THEY are still in my head
Demanding answers
Threatening ridicule
Seeking revenge
Then a miracle occurs.
My Father says:
“Stop
Thinking this is a mirror
To tell you who you are”
He places a hand on my shoulder.
“This
Is just a picture
Of who you thought you were
To convince you
You belong here”
He closes my eyes.
He turns me around
And says:
“This
Is who
I alway knew
You really are”
And suddenly…
My eyes are opened!
To be continued
Reflection
I feel…
- Reflected
- Hounded
- Defined
- Dependant
- Fragile
- Safe
- Known
- Redefined
Scripture
