I am…dressing.

It is the day of the race
The first day
Of the rest of my life

I shower and brush my teeth
Put on my under-armor and knee braces

I find the race shirt
I was given when I signed up
My shorts
My socks
And…. I can’t find my shoes!

I look for Jesus.

He is holding my shoes
But won’t give them to me

He grins
He looks me up and down
And says

“I think you are ready”

Ready?
Like this?
For what?
