  • To heal their deepest pain
  • By allowing Jesus
  • To heal mine

Immanuel Approach Memo

Continued from 5/12 IAM: Pre-Announcing

I am… dumbfounded.

Jesus is asking me
To give away Good News
Instead of selling bad news

I look at the pouch
He handed me
I shake it
It doesn’t feel like money
No thirty pieces of silver

With trembling fingers
I open the gift

Inside
Is a small metal key
And a slip of paper
With an address
And the words

“Welcome home”

I look for Jesus.

He is watching over me
He winks

I want
To run to Him
Grab Him
And never let go

But
He gestures with His eyes
At the stack of papers
He left for me
To share

I smile.

I am a little sad
I have to wait
But more excited
I finally have something
Worth waiting for

I tie the pouch to my belt
And pick up the papers

I look at the first one
With “Good News”
Written across the front

I realize
I never bothered
To find out
What the news was

I flip it over
To read the rest
And when I do

My jaw drops open.

To be continued

Reflection

I feel…

  • Like I belong
  • Rewarded
  • Accepted
  • Understood
  • Cherished
  • Flabbergasted
  • Overwhelmed (In a good way)

Scripture

He tends His flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart. He gently leads the nursing ewes.

Isaiah 40:11
