I am… listening.

I hold
The bloody body of Jesus
Whom I slew
In God’s throne room

I felt
My Father
Speak impossible forgiveness
To me

Now I hear
My wife
Calling out to Jesus
As she arrives

I see
Her crumple to the floor
Weeping
As she finds Him dead

I look to My Father.

His face
Is grim
But His eyes
Twinkle
With mischief

He says

“Why the commotion
Why all the weeping
My Son is not dead
He is merely sleeping

I know you feel sad
And your hearts are breaking
But that’s just because
You can’t see what I’m Making”

With a wave of His hand
He opens our eyes
The veil disappears
So we too realize

This bloody communion
In heaven above
Is what sends His spirit
To fall like a dove

So earth and creation
Find cause to rejoice
For all that was wrought
By my wicked choice

The slain Prince of Glory
Through love sacrifice
Invades earth with heaven
So we are blessed twice
