I am… sheep
A whole flock of them

Some joyful
Some unruly
A few despairing

But all of them are me

I look for Jesus.

He is singing over us
To us

Most parts of me can’t hear Him
A few do

One
Perks up his ears
Stops what he’s doing
And turns to look at Jesus

Others turn to look
At the one looking at Jesus

He starts walking
The ones who were looking
Start walking

Others see
And follow
Like sheep

I flock to Jesus.

When we get close
He starts moving

It think He’s going
To lead us all away

Instead
He leads us back
To the lost sheep
The lost parts of myself
That had been left behind

I look for myself.

I see me
Some parts angry, bitter
Others fearful, paranoid

A few look dead

He sends out
Those who follow Him
To the left and right

The joyful sheep
Encourage the fearful
The peaceful sheep
Calm the angry

But Jesus Himself
Raises the dead
-looking sheep on His shoulders
And restores them

To life
To us
To Him

Amen.

Reflection

• Redeemed
• Resurrected
• Reconciled
• Reunited
• Rejoiced over
• Released from bondage
• Renewed
• Ready
