10/28 Epic Poem: Vulnera-Bold

Hat tip to Vulner-Ability.

There comes a time we must choose
To lay down a life we might lose
Or else take the easier way
Condemning our soul to decay

The reason our sins yet abide
Is behind false ego they hide
We dare not unfasten those locks
To face what’s in Pandora’s Box

Yet that is the why Satan still rules:
Our terror of looking like fools
By shutting down part of our brain
Hell’s able to act with free rein

The cure is as brutal as swift:
We must dare the Box lid to lift
And face the unthinkable fear
That keeps our minds stuck in low gear

For we’d rather curse at our fate
Than become the person we’d hate
For shattering our foolish pride
And letting all see what’s inside

And if Satan’s lies were the truth
We’d have to keep that rotten tooth
Eating our face from within
To hide unforgivable sin

Yet this is the great victory
Christ purchased upon Calvary
Proving the sin we unwrap
Makes Satan fall into our trap

For shame has no power to kill
Those who yield all to God’s will
The broken heart worn on my sleeve
Means I will a Kingdom receive

Today I will dare
The flames and shames
Of self-imposed hell
To win my Beloved
A Kingdom and Bride
