Hat tip to Embraceable You

Jesus said to those Jews who believed in him, “When you continue to embrace all that I teach, you prove that you are my true followers. For if you embrace the truth, it will release true freedom into your lives.”‭‭

John‬ ‭8‬:‭31‬-‭32‬ ‭TPT‬‬

If I want to do
What Jesus did, too
I must learn to live
Embraceable True

This world’s trapped in lies
And so is my heart
Deceit must be broken
To give us new start

But truth by itself
Is still half a lie
For it may conceal
The wounds inside I

Do I use my words
To push you away?
Do choices I make
Belie what I say?

The only real truth
That can set you free
Is truth that I live
Which draws you to me

The reason we sin
And cling to our lies
Is cause we’re afraid
Til we realize

That death’s not the end
And crosses bring life
Forgiveness has power
To end all our strife

And if that’s the truth
I want you to know
My heart must be torn
So you see it’s so

And as His blood flows
Midst vulnerability
You’ll see His truth
In Embraceable We

Today I will tear tears
Of truth
