4/23 Poem: Seek Deep

If Truth that sets free
Is what we would reap
We must sow a Quest
Of seeking the Deep

A fact in our mind
Will never suffice
Unless beforehand
We pay a steep price

The Quest-ion must
Take root in our soul
So when it’s removed
It leaves a deep hole

We must face the lie
Our lives were lived by
Before learning “what”
We must find our “why”

Do we want Truth
Our Self to build up
So we need not drink
That bitterest cup?

Or is it to purchase
Proof we are Right?
Knowledge as Power
Just worsens our plight

We must feel the hunger
From heaven delayed
Before we embrace
Truth to be obeyed

So join me in seeking
The hole in our heart
For when we find Jesus
Deep healing will start

Today I will follow
The Deep Quest
To its bitterest end
