3/10 Poem: March Heir

Cf March Hare – Wikipedia

It may seem I’m mad just to dare it
Yet this world I’m called to inherit
Not by the strength of my arm
But making myself open to harm

For vulnerability’s key
To drawing you closer to me
In losing my need to control
I’m saving both my and your soul

This only works when my true self
Is made secure on Jesus’s shelf
When it’s not you that I need
You can feel safe from my need

This how meekness begins
Where strength is not tainted by sins
Competence not causing fear
Now heals broken hearts that draw near

Which is why God chose a birth
To launch His redemption of earth
By taking a posture so weak
He unleashed the power of meek

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Matthew 5:5

Dr Ernie, you limerick drew me in from the beginning. No need to control and getting low because Jesus is in control.
