3/9 Poem: Mourning Broken

cf. Morning Has Broken

Lord you know the pain of this world
Into which we have been hurled
We are each one broken part
Of your once unbroken heart

No wonder we rage and despair
Missing what’s no longer there
Consumed by our pain and our fear
Terrified of drawing near

And that is why we need to grieve
Before our poor hearts can believe
The Reunion waiting in Christ
Is worth such a terrible price

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Matthew 5:4
