2/5 Poetry Slam: Sandal-Worthy

Standard

I wanna be worthy
Of strapping your sandal
I no longer care
If the world thinks it scandal

My highest ambition
My reason for birth
Is loosing the place
Where Heaven meets Earth

Lord, this world’s dying
For beautiful feet
That bring Your Body
Where sinners can meet

The scars and the holes
For which us You bled
Grace me to uncover
So with us You tread

Pound me in the dust
And smoosh me with crap
I’ll count it all glory
To untie His strap

And he began to proclaim: “After me will come One more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.

Mark 1:7
