Three Dimensions of Christian Identity

Standard
  1. Position: We are already completely accepted as the Father’s beloved children
  2. Process: We are still becoming redemptive co-heirs with Jesus
  3. Perception: We develop this identity in (not from) community as we practice reconciliation by hearing and obeying the Spirt

“God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life. God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him.

John 3:16-17 (NCV)

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

Romans 8:28-29 (NLT)

Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new. God has done it all! He sent Christ to make peace between himself and us, and he has given us the work of making peace between himself and others.

2 Corinthians 5:17-18 (CEV)
