The story which our lives make told
Is one which must slowly unfold
The mystery seems dark
But grace is the spark
That unveils the path we enrolled
He replied, “The mystery of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to those on the outside everything is expressed in parables

I want to be great in the Lord’s sight
Feel His delight when I do right
But the greater please
To see as He sees:
So you feel the joy of His home-site

The reason the truth we avoid
Is we can’t see God unalloyed
His glory’s too big
For leaves of a fig
To save us from being destroyed
If we long for transfigured life-flow
We must learn how to under-shadow
The less I trust me
The more I can see
How earth’s gap from heaven to narrow
