Is not a long stair
But daring to step
When nothing seems there
Today I will step out
Rather than calling others out

But that’s just because we have not found
Those ties that bind
Satan from our mind
So earth can by heaven be re-drowned

Like a jail break
So my mistake
Becomes a head fake

And with Your truth I slay Goliath!
2/19 Limerick: Breaking Rules!

It may make us all sound like fools
But I’m here to say “Breaking rules!”
Our praise amidst loss
Channels Christ’s cross
And that is how He, Satan schools!

Feeling lost and adrift
It’s hard to consider
Existence a gift

When my life takes a detour
The failure of plan
Makes me less a man
And my role too much to endure

Do what I must
To win back the trust

StandardWhat are the contents of heaven
With which this world we must leaven?
The grace of Christ
Bought at great price
Turns up our love to eleven!

“I AM” can do all things — with me!

If we are to defeat our Lions
For this is the hour
When giving up power
Frees us to conquer our Zions

StandardIt’s easy to think we are beaten
When we see the years locusts have eaten
But we know we will come out ahead
When we start to eat locusts instead!

StandardThe Hands they say once made the world
Now find themselves around nails curled
The One who by rights is our Boss
Has become a symbol of loss
1/3 Limerick: Holy Won
StandardOf holiness there is but one
Who’s fit to make us wholly won
His love we don’t doubt
Christ came inside-out
That we may live out what He’s done
“And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.””
Matthew 3:17

We must be willing to face
The limits of our competence
Even before we commence
11/27 Limericks: Mercy Through
StandardWhen I’m feeling frustrated by you
I’m tempted to just power through
It may be a sin

You do what I want you to do
Yet mercy cries out from the cross
“Don’t gain from another one’s loss!”
As I feel your pain
My loss turns to gain
As Christ demonstrates Who is boss

StandardHappy Fibonacci Day!
First-order pain helps us learn
To keep away from flames that burn
Our bodies we need to preserve
So that on earth we may serve

StandardIf gates of Hell we would raze
We must learn to weaponize praise
10/31 Limerick: In Vulnerability

As losing my armor unleashes Thee
It may not feel safe
But I’m no helpless waif
For even my death brings me victory!
