Hat Tip to The Lego Movie
Though this world feels like it’s broke
That’s not a reason to choke
God has a plan
For woman and man
To reveal His great master-stroke!
Hat Tip to The Lego Movie
Though this world feels like it’s broke
That’s not a reason to choke
God has a plan
For woman and man
To reveal His great master-stroke!
When our world seems to be flaking
We must engage in thanks-making
We break zero-sum
When we become
Part of the Body He’s breaking!
Mark 6:41 Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, Jesus spoke a blessing and broke the loaves. Then He gave them to His disciples to set before the people. And He divided the two fish among them all.
Today I will feed those I love
With thankfulness
As part of the brokenness
Of Christ’s Body
We gotta get into Your Over-Flow
So we escape this world‘s under-tow
Sin has trapped us all in ways we don’t know
Free us from ruts so with You we go
I had two contradictory encounters at yesterday’s PAWS for Men Encountering Jesus.
During Immanuel Encounter,
I saw Jesus on a cliff overlooking the sea.
His arms were outstretched.
He had a huge grin.
He said, “Come fly with me!”
He had a huge grin on His face.
I heard the words “So Happy” over and over.
And I started sobbing great gut-wrenching sobs.
[on reflection: perhaps “un-wrenching”, like resetting a dislocated shoulder]
The second was when Paul M. prayed for me.
I was describing unforgiveness as a barrier.
When you sin against me, you reveal that you and the world are broken.
Unforgiveness is my refusal to internalize that brokenness.
I saw Jesus sucking out my brokenness.
Leaving wholeness in its place.
Except where my brokenness was holding to that barrier.
Forgiveness is realizing I need to release that barrier.
So Jesus can suck out all my brokenness.
And yours through me.
#EmbraceTheSuck
I saw Him absorbing all that sin and shame on the cross.
And I just started laughing and laughing…
I need a heart break
Like a jail break
So my mistake
Becomes a head fake
Continued from Mrs. Jesus #5/7: Wood Friday
Jesus is gone.
I am alone.
And nothing will ever be okay again.
[In honor of the most overlooked, relevant, and lonely holiday in the Christian calendar]
Continue readingThe Power of Powerlessness
It may make us all sound like fools
But I’m here to say “Breaking rules!”
Our praise amidst loss
Channels Christ’s cross
And that is how He, Satan schools!
I think my life like a train
Running on rails that my brain
Already decided
Must be provided
So that my goals I attain
Desire itself is not sin
Yet reveals where we’re broken within
It may strike a chord
But can’t be my Lord
Just shows me where Christ need to win

Lord when I fall apart
Re-member me
When pain engulfs my heart
Help me see Thee
For life is still so short
And cursed with ill report
And evil seems to thwart
My noblest effort
O Lord, being thankful is hard
When my heart feels pierced by a shard
Of this world, now broken and torn
By people so lost and forlorn
The power that I never knew
Is weakness revealing what’s true
For when I reach my end
The cross starts to mend
Those hearts that were broken in two!
