I am… devoid.

You are divine

As I admit
My emptiness

I vomit up
All the false comforts
And hollow nurture
I used to fill the void

I cannot
Look up
Yet…

Jesus looks to me.

He says:

“Whenever a soul
Empties itself of lies
To face the truth
Of who they are…”

The gates of hell tremble.

With a voice like thunder
He continues:

“Wherever
They may be
Even if
It is the very center
Of The Pit…”

The darkness fractures.

Lightning
Lightening
Fills the sky

He stomps His foot.

The substrate
We had thought
The very bottom
Of the underworld

Begins to buckle
Upwards

From the irresistible pressure
Of an immovable object
Rising

As He concludes:

“Their heart
Becomes the site…”

“Of My temple!”
