I am… virile.

Each cross
Each death

Embeds seeds
Deep
Into the foundations of the earth

Where they are nourished
Not by rain from above
But fire from below

I look for Jesus.

He is the molten core
At the center
Of this new world

Not destroying
Baking

I cry out:

“Lord
How long
Until you rise?”

Jesus looks to me.

Smiling through His tears
As He says:

“This bread
Cannot be eaten
Until…”

“It is thoroughly broken!”
