I am… moving forward.

Toward the two mother figures
That defined the poles of my life

Religious mother
Was always sweet and kind
Self-sacrificing
Resolute
But driven by guilt

Wicked mother
Was fun and adventurous
And always accepted me
But self-destructive
And internally haunted

I look to the Judge.

My Father says:

“I AM not here
To judge them
Or you
But to judge
What is necessary
For you to move forward”

I close my eyes…

I listen to the Spirit.

He says:

“The solution is not
For you to choose one
Over the other
Or them to divide you
Between them
But rather to allow Me
To work through you…”

“To reconcile them!”
