I am… racing.

To conquer the land

Not out of ambition
Or greed

But because the current rulers
Are corrupt
Divided
Untrustworthy

And the land
Is on the brink of chaos

If I don’t act
Who will?

Someone weaker
Slower
Worse?

I look for Jesus.

He stops me
By holding up
A nail-pierced hand
Saying:

“You must conquer
But not
With chariots and horses
Swords and armor
Strategies and tactics”

He hands me
A brimming basket
And adds:

“The best way
To conquer
Is with…”

“The fruits of the spirit!”
