I am… unfaithful.

My restlessness
Has torn me out
Of the bosom of God

Leaving a hole in His heart
And me covered
With fragments of His body

I look to My Father.

I say:

“Father
Please forgive me
I have no idea
What I am doing”

My Father looks to me.

He says:

“It is not
Your fault
For Satan has asked
To sift you like wheat”

The wind rises.

I am tossed to and fro
Because I am no longer
Abiding in Him

Leaves and branches
Break off
Under the strain

My Father grins.

“But
I have prayed for you
To keep pursuing connection
Because everything
That dies
Reaching for me
Becomes compost…”

“For the next generation!”
