I am… laying down.

My life
My agenda
My identity
My freedom
My self

The wolves close in.

Then scatter
As an enormous bear
Charges into their midst
And chases them away

I am confused.

Was all that talk
Of sacrifice
For nothing?

I listen to the Spirit.

He says:

“Not every sacrifice
Ends in death”

He breathes again.

The trees part
And I see the altar
Where Abraham
Almost sacrificed Isaac

The Spirit laughs.

He says:

“Sometimes
I AM finding out
Whether you are willing
To love your enemies
And surrender to Me…”

“What is most deer!”
