I am… defying death.

Walking on a wire
In the open air
A hundred feet off the ground

I feel ridiculous.

I have never
Been light and graceful

I am used to leverage
From being anchored
To the ground

All my muscles
All my mass
Has become
A liability
Rather than an asset

I look to My Father.

I ask:

“What am I even doing here?
I thought
All I needed to do
Was sit and watch”

My Father grins.

He says:

“For the greatest show on earth
The best seat in the house
Is with your feet…”

“Planted firmly in midair!”
