I am… sterile.

Wrapped in a surgical gown
In the delivery room
Next to The Bride
While The Father waits outside

The baby crowns.

The Bride pushes
With all her strength
Because this
Is what she longed for

But
She only has
A little strength
Left

I look to My Father.

He motions to me
Through the window
To do
What must be done

I see my role.

I am not here
To father the child
To be The Bride
Or judge her weakness

We speed-ran here
So I could be on time
To midwife her

I spent my years
Training in worldly arenas
And pointless contests
So I could lend her my strength
When she needed me most

My Father beams.

I carefully reach
Into her most sensitive area…

And bring forth The Son!
