As the elders watch in horror
I lead the redeemed children
In racing around the town
Tearing down the ruined houses

Which they do as gleefully
As they once sacrificed me
To try to save them

The we start over.

We pave over the town
With glistening new asphalt
As smooth as ice

Then we pause
Wondering
What to do next
What to build first

Homes?
Temples?
Parks?

I look to My Father.

He says:

“A stable
Because that is all I need…”

“To invade your world!”
